Kevin A. Klock, Director of OperationsKevin A. Klock joined the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health in October 2015 as Director of Operations and Advisor to the President. He is responsible for working with all internal departments to facilitate the management of the Foundation. He provides legal counsel and advice, oversees grants and contracts, manages human resources and office infrastructure, and leads special projects. In addition, he serves as a critical thought partner to the President and senior leadership and administers many aspects of the Foundation’s governance.

Prior to joining the FNIH, Klock was Head of Governance and Assistant Secretary for Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and Company Secretary for the Gavi Campaign. At Gavi he advised board members, staff, and partners on public sector and corporate governance best practice and was lead staff member on governance for matters that involved Gavi's finance and debt-issuance activities including the International Finance Facility for Immunisation (IFFIm). Prior to this he was with the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), which provides information, research, and education to corporate boards.

Klock has served as a director on three boards and his comments on corporate governance have appeared in many industry publications. He is Scholar at Georgetown University's O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law and he lectures regularly on global health and corporate governance. He has been published by Oxford University Press and the Georgetown Journal of International Law, among others.

Klock received his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center and is a member of the District of Columbia Bar. He is a graduate of Duke University, received his MA from American University, and was Lord Rothermere Scholar at Oxford University. Originally from Rochester, New York, he and his family live in Potomac, Maryland.
