Dr. John L. Barr Memorial Fund

Overview

Dr. John L. Barr was an internist at Kaiser Permanente for 25 years, where he started a clinic for patients with chronic pain. The Dr. John L. Barr Memorial Fund was established in 2004 to support the IntramuralResearch Training Award (IRTA) fellowship program at the Clinical Center’s Pain and Palliative Care Service. The object of the fellowship is to conductResearch on pain and palliative care, while encouraging young investigators to become more familiar with the importance of this field of study.

Goals

  • Encourage young investigators to become more familiar with the importance of studying pain and palliative care.
