Overview
This program completed in March 2017.
Held in 2017, Cognitive Aging Summit III brought together more than 300 experts in a variety of Research fields to discuss the most cutting edge advances in our understanding of age-related brain and cognitive changes, with a particular focus on resilience and reserve. It built upon Research directions identified through previous Summits in 2007 and 2010. During the conference, the Research advances and resources developed through the four McKnight Brain Institutes were highlighted. The long term objective of the Summit is to improve cognitive health by continuing to raise awareness of the importance of Research in cognitive aging and the factors that may influence resilience to impairment and the development of cognitive reserve.
The Cognitive Aging Summit III, which built on the 2007 and 2010 Summits, helped to facilitate the exploration of new avenues of potential Research, which could lead to the development of pharmacological and behavioral which would ultimately improve cognitive health. The Summits are crucial in raising the level of awareness within the scientific community and among the public about the importance of Research and its value in maintaining cognitive health.
