Overview

With age, many individuals may face cognitive changes that can significantly impact their quality of life. Understanding the cognitive changes that occur with age is crucial for developing effective interventions and strategies to promote cognitive health. The Cognitive Aging Summit IV will bring together experts and researchers from diverse fields to explore the latest scientific discoveries, share insights, and foster collaboration in the study of cognitive aging.

This fourth Cognitive Aging Summit will be held March 20-21, 2024 in Bethesda, Maryland. The meeting will feature presentations and discussions on promising areas of research investigating age-related brain and cognitive changes. With a special focus on precision aging and brain health, the fourth Cognitive Aging Summit will explore individual differences in cognitive performance, brain function, and adaptation. The summit will also look at the factors that drive these individual differences with the goal of fostering collaboration to design prevention and intervention trials in the context of precision health.

The two-day meeting will build on priorities and research directions identified at previous Cognitive Aging Summits, and will be convened by the National Institute on Aging (NIA), and made possible by the McKnight Brain Research Foundation through a generous grant to the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health.

Goals
  • Foster a multidisciplinary dialogue among experts to deepen our understanding of age-related brain and cognitive changes.

  • Facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing among researchers, stakeholders, and organizations working in the field of cognitive aging.

  • Raise awareness among the scientific community and the public about the importance of research in maintaining cognitive health and addressing cognitive decline in aging individuals.

Join us at the Cognitive Aging Summit IV on March 20-21, 2024, in Bethesda, Maryland, where leading experts will explore the latest breakthroughs in understanding age-related cognitive changes, with a focus on precision aging and brain health, fostering collaboration to advance cognitive health interventions.
