FNIH Achieves 4-star Rating By Charity Navigator
For Sixth Consecutive Year, The Foundation for the National Institutes of Health Achieves 4-star Rating By Charity Navigator
BETHESDA, MD, April 25, 2012 — The Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) is awarded the coveted 4-star rating “for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency” by Charity Navigator, the leading charity evaluator in America.
The FNIH has received this rating for the sixth consecutive year.
“Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that your organization adheres to good governance and other best practices … and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way,” says President and CEO of Charity Navigator, Ken Berger. “Only 3% of the charities we rate have received at least 6 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that [the FNIH] outperforms most other charities in America.”
“This ‘exceptional’ designation allows us to continue to be competitive in the philanthropic marketplace,” says FNIH Chairman, Charles A. Sanders, M.D. “Year after year we execute our mission in a fiscally responsible way for the betterment of human health worldwide.”
“We are honored to receive this rating again this year,” says Acting Executive Director and CEO, Stephanie James, PhD. “We remain committed to the needs of the National Institutes of Health and we will continue to prove to our generous donors and to the public that we are worthy of their trust.”
