Norman P. Salzman Memorial Award and Symposium in Virology

The Dr. Norman P. Salzman Memorial Fund was established in 1999 to present the annual Norman P. Salzman Memorial Symposium and Award in Virology to an outstanding Postdoctoral Fellow, Research Fellow or Clinical Fellow working in the field of virology within the intramural NIH, Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research or Leidos community.

Stephen E. Straus Distinguished Lecture

The Stephen E. Straus Distinguished Lecture in the Science of Complementary Health Therapies is an annual lecture given by leading figures in science and medicine who come to NIH to speak from their perspective about the field of complementary and integrative medicine.

Sayer Vision Research Lecture & Award

The Sayer Vision Research Lecture and Award funds an annual presentation delivered by an investigator conducting outstanding research in the area of vision research or related fields. It also provides a grant to support the research of a promising independent investigator in the early stage of his or her career in the Division of Intramural Research whose work is closely related to aspects of vision research.

Lurie Prize in Biomedical Sciences

In 2020, the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) will present the eighth annual Lurie Prize in Biomedical Sciences, a $100,000 award recognizing outstanding achievement by a promising young scientist in biomedical research.

John Laws Decker Memorial Fund

The Dr. John Laws Decker Memorial Fund honors the late NIH Clinical Center Director through the annual John Laws Decker Memorial Lecture and the Distinguished Clinical Teacher's Award.

Dr. Anita Roberts Memorial Fund

The Dr. Anita Roberts Memorial Fund awards travel scholarships for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows to present their work at a national meeting.

Advancing Science, Improving Lives - NINR's 30th Anniversary Events

Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR), the Advancing Science, Improving Lives symposia and scholarly events will bring together scientists, healthcare professionals and members of the public to discuss the advancements in nursing science that build the foundation of clinical nursing practice.

FNIH Award Ceremony

On Wednesday, May 22, 2019 thought leaders from the NIH, pioneers in biomedical science, the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, philanthropists and business executives convened in Washington, D.C. for the seventh annual FNIH Award Ceremony and presentation of the Lurie Prize in Biomedical Sciences. This $100,000 award, made possible by a generous gift from FNIH Board member Ann Lurie, recognizes outstanding achievement by a promising young scientist in biomedical research.

Go4Life is a signature public health campaign by the National Institute on Aging (NIA) to encourage older adults to get active and stay active.

Biomarkers Consortium – CSC Scientific Symposium

The Cancer Steering Committee (CSC) Scientific Symposium reviews advances in the field of biomarker and regulatory science that are relevant to the development of new public-private partnerships for precompetitive biomarkers. This review assists the CSC with planning future public- private partnerships in this area.
